What is CommUniversity?

CommUniversity specializes in customized learning and development experiences for community based groups and institutions, local, state and federal government agencies and interested neighborhood residents. We work with you to develop a curriculum that can demonstrate that the community assets, the skills of local residents, the power of local associations, the resources of public, private and non-profit institutions, and the physical and economic resources of local places are key building blocks in sustainable urban and rural community revitalization efforts.  Areas of expertise include asset-based organizing, relationship building, asset and resource mapping and community capacity research, community building workshop and seminar production, strategic planning, and collaborative partnering. space

About Us

CommUniversity is asset-based and community focused. Built on the concepts of Asset-Based Community development, we show communities how to leverage the exisiting assets they have to address local problems and issues.

These community assets include:

  • the skills of local residents
  • the power of local associations
  • the resources of public, private and non-profit institutions
  • the physical infrastructure and space in a community
  • the economic resources and potential of local places
  • the local history and culture of a neighborhood
